♡ what love is to me ♡

Something that is very special to me, is love. Love in all its meaning, whether it's friendship, admiration, respect, or simply just being in love with someone. If I have one favorite feeling, it has to be love. I love loving, I love love. It is something so pure and selfless, but infinite at the same time. There is always love for everyone, enough for all of us. I don't know exactly where I'm going with this article, but I have been wanting to write for a long time, and didn't because I guess I was a little scared of opening myself like this. 

Love is what keeps me going on a daily basis, and is what inspires me the most. I find it everywhere, and where I can't find it, I make it appear. Many times in my life, people have asked me why I was so into movies, & cinema in general. Not talking about the technical side, I enjoy movies because it takes you to a different universe, someone else's intimate story, and the way the movie is directed shows a certain vision of it. Of course, it is entertaining. Sometimes, it is a little bit more than entertaining. Most movies have the subject of love centered, as it is something all of us can relate to. Romance and love stories have a very special place in my heart, they inspire me, they make me happy. Most of the time, people tend to denigrate them using the argument that it shows an unrealistic vision of love, and of a relationship, etc.. I disagree. Maybe you think I'm crazy for saying that. The main goal of a movie is to entertain, before anything else. The point of watching them is also to find inspiration for love, because no one ever said love was easy, and if someone said so, then in my opinion, it is a lie. Love isn't there "at first sight", it is something you build step by step, sometimes you take it slower, sometimes faster, sometimes you need to pause for a bit because you are tired, but true love never ends, and that is one of my strongest beliefs. 

I do not believe in "relationship goals",  and I know it is a new "trend" (we can see that everywhere on instragram/facebook/youtube etc..). Truth is, love is a special feeling that should only be special between two people. A couple faces challenges, obstacles, but face them together. 

Actually, I have always had a weird approach of marriage. When I was younger, I thought I would never marry anyone because I didn't believe in love the way I do today. I believed it was impossible for a human being to love one person for its entire life, I genuinely thought we had to be with numerous people, as we grow in life.However, if two people still love each other, they should never give up on their relationship. The only thing that needs to stay between them is love. At the end of the day, if you feel like you have every single effort possible to make it work, then you can move on with a clear conscience

There are only three relationships I admire with all my heart, and that inspire me. My parent's marriage, my grandparent's marriage and SRK's and Gauri's marriage. Maybe it is a little weird for me to talk about a marriage that I know nothing about but their's have always fascinated me (in a non-creepy way, I promise!). You all already know how much respect & love I have for King Khan. I have always supported him, since I was very little, he is very much loved in all my family, and he will always have a special place in my heart. People ask me all the time, "why do you love HIM so much ? There are other really good actors, why him ? What makes him the king ?", and there are many reasons why. I think, something that makes him stand out of all the other actors is a connection I have with him. I believe it happens to everyone ? You see that special person on TV & you just connect, you like that person, because you just have that special feeling. I hope you can relate to what I'm saying, if not, try to understand the feeling I'm talking to you about. And that changes with everyone, because not everyone is naturally attracted to the same artist. Yes, there are other incredible actors in B-town, I have never denied that nor doubt it. SRK just has this special thing. He is the only actors (not only in B-Town) who makes me feel all types of way, in different types of movies. He has a very sensitive acting, very pure actually. I like the movies he choses, they all have something different to offer. What makes SRK so special to me is also the person he is. Obviously I don't know him personally but the way he is, the things he say are very intelligent, and he is a genuine person. It isn't about if he loves his fans or whatever, that isn't what I care about (although he treats them very well !). It is just about who he is, the values he stands for. Being the King of Bollywood, he was offered many roles in Hollywood, but never left Bollywood. That was something I didn't understand for many years, because I was thinking about how much more fame he would have gotten, and money, etc. But I realize today, that it all about moral values, about representing India, his country. And I think that is extremly beautiful, and has no price. That is the kind of person who marks the world forever. He is not only talented but a hard-worker, and that is something I respect more than anything about someone. All these reasons make him the king, because there is no one else who can be compared to him, to me.

We all know Shahrukh Khan as the superstar today, but he wasn't always a superstar. While most actors become famous because of family connection, he litteraly started from the bottom. He always said that he had a good childhood, but he becam an orphan quite early, actually. Then comes the good part. Before any B word, there was this girl ! Gauri Khan. They met at a party, I believe. Soon they started dating, and broke up one time after a few months, because of SRK's jealousy (he was over-protective). Please note that they were really young when they met. What amazes me is the next part. They dated secretly for 6 years because Gauri's parents wouldn't let them get married, because he was a muslim (and she was hindu) and also because hi didn't have a "stable" job (remember at that point he wasn't a Bollywood star). Eventually, we all know how the story ends, they got married pretty young, when her parents finally accepted. Now they are celebrating their 25 years of marriage, and I think it is beautiful. They must have been through so much together. From being an unknown artist, struggling, to a superstar, the change must have been tough. But they still are together, with three beautiful kids. On Gauri's side, it is also very challenging to be seen as "SRK's wife", and handling the pressure of medias, and fame isn't easy everyday. Being SRK's wife probably isn't the easiest thing, but at the end of the day, they found a way. Why ? Because they love each other. They were there for each other for years, before fame, during fame and will be there for each other after fame. They live a very private life, you will never see any tabloids about their family drama. It isn't because they don't have any, they are a normal family, but they are a very classy family. 

That is the kind of love that reminds me to never stop fighting, and to fight for the person I love. Love isn't something we should take for granted, it is a fire that we must make sure never extinguishes, even in rainy times. 

How crazy is it to think we suddenly feel like we have wings, and are ready to do anything it takes to keep that one special person by our side forever ?

I don't really know where I'm going with this article, I guess I needed to open myself. I see many articles, pictures conveying an image of love that doesn't correspond to my values nor my vision. Sometimes I even hear my younger friends, or even older friends, talking about love in a certain way, that surprises me. Thus here is my opinion, and the way I see things.
