If you know anything about me.. I LOVE Shahrukh Khan. And love is probably not strong enough ! I often need my dose of SRK, and Raees made my day ! I love it when the movie is actually worth it, considering how long bollywood movies are.. 

So obviously there is nothing much to say about the casting, other than it was perfect ! SRK has nothing more to prove, yet he manages to become better every time. Mahira Khan is so talented, and she is so beautiful ! I couldn't take my eyes off her ! She is so natural and seems very innocent, I love that about her. 

The songs in the movie are lovely and I could listen to them all day. My favorites are udi udi jaye, zaalima (the lyrics are amazing and heart-touching) and saanson ke. 

The story in itself is very beautiful and original. I love the fact that as soon as the movie starts, you find yourself immersed in the story. And then, it's impossible to stop. Some scenes were very deep, and emotional. I really loved this movie. 

Though I think it's a pity that the relationship between Raees and his wife and son was not enough developped. I watched a deleted scene of the movie that shows a bit of family time, and in my opinion, they shouldn't have deleted it, as it adds a lot of family bonding time and gives more reality and credibility to the characters. 

Other than that, the story is beautiful and I will remember this movie for the rest of my life. Some scenes are very violent, so if you're not into that you shouldn't watch it, but Raees is definitely one of my favorite movies ! There is something very pure about the movie.
