"A quiet, sweet tempered housewife endures small slights from her well-educated husband and daughter every day because of her inability to speak and understand English."

Out of the world ! This movie is out of the world. It touched me so much, right through my heart. Sridevi's acting is simply mind blowing, she's so good and it made me miss her so much.She has done so much for Indian Cinema and I feel so grateful for everything she has done. I really needed to watch this movie.

The characters are so endearing, and the dialogues are some of the most powerful dialogues I've ever heard. They had me sobbing. I love the topic of the movie and I understand her rage and thirst to learn english. To be honest, Sridevi reminded me a lot of my own mommy, and that was a wonderful feeling.

I love the values she carries in the movie, and although Laurent was pissing me off a little, he was also really sweet and caring. Also, Sagar !! is THE cutest bachcha I've ever seen ! Oh god, he's so sweet ! Sridevi's teen daughter in the movie however, was extremely rude and I couldn't stand her. Spoiled and arrogant brat, lol.
